After you upload the portrait at checkout, our design team reviews it and enhances it for engraving clarity — sharpening detail, balancing exposure, restoring older photographs where needed. We convert the photo into a 3D model that maps to the tall vertical proportions of the Candle Holder. The 4K laser leaves microscopic refractive points at exact depths inside the K9 glass, forming the portrait with lifelike volume. When you light a candle in the top cavity, the warm flame light filters down through the engraving, illuminating the portrait from above with a soft amber glow that the standard daylight-display crystal cannot match. What's in the box Your crystal ships in a premium gift-ready box — a navy presentation box with the Beyond Memories wordmark in gold, a soft microfiber pouch for cleaning, and a printed care card. The crystal is nested in custom-cut foam to survive transit. If you add a Memory Light Base at checkout, it ships in the same box with its USB-C power cable. Crystal care K9 optical crystal is scratch-resistant and heat-safe up to standard tealight temperatures. Wipe with the included microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and candle wax residue. Allow the candle to cool fully before re-lighting or moving the crystal. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and never submerge in water while warm. The cylindrical cavity at the top is designed for a standard tealight (1.5" diameter) or a small pillar candle.
